Bifacial Solar Panels

How to turn reflected light into free energy and increase your profit by up to 20%.

Conventional solar panels absorb light only from the top (front) surface. But according to the laws of physics, light doesn't just come from above—it constantly reflects off the objects and surfaces around us. In standard systems, this reflected energy is simply lost.

This is where one of modern energy's most impressive breakthroughs comes into play — Bifacial technology.

🔬 What is the Albedo Effect?

In science, a surface's ability to reflect light is called "Albedo". The lighter the color of the surface, the higher its Albedo rating.

⚫ Black Asphalt or Dark Roof

Absorbs light and reflects only 5-10%.

🌱 Dry Earth / Grass

Reflects approximately 15-25%.

🏢 Concrete / White Membrane

Reflects up to 30-50% of light.

❄️ Fresh Snow

A natural mirror that reflects 80-90% of sunlight!

⚙️ How Does a Bifacial Panel Work?

The back of traditional panels is covered with an opaque, protective plastic layer (Backsheet). Bifacial panels do not have this layer. Their photovoltaic cells are encased in transparent glass on both sides (Dual-Glass technology).

When direct sunlight hits the front of the panel, some photons bypass it, hit the ground or roof, reflect (Albedo effect), and return—right onto the transparent back of the panel. The rear cells catch this reflected light and convert it into additional electricity.

📈 Maximum Profit for Business

What advantage does this physical phenomenon bring to real life? If your solar station is installed on a light-colored flat roof or in a snowy region (for example, Gudauri or Bakuriani), Bifacial technology can increase total system output by 15-20%.

  • You get more energy from the exact same area.
  • The return on investment (ROI) time decreases.
  • The Dual-Glass construction provides the panel with more durability and a longer lifespan, as glass does not degrade like plastic.

Innovations do not stand still. The Inversol team constantly monitors the latest technological trends so your energy investment is as efficient and profitable as possible. Choose smart energy that works for you—from both sides!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are bifacial solar panels?
Bifacial panels have glass on both sides and capture sunlight from the front plus reflected light (albedo) from the rear — boosting total output.
What is the albedo effect?
Albedo is how much light a surface reflects. Light roofs, concrete, or snow reflect more energy onto the back of bifacial modules.
How much extra energy do bifacial panels produce?
On light flat roofs or snowy sites in Georgia, bifacial systems can add roughly 15–20% more generation versus standard monofacial panels.
